  General Business English – Lower and Upper

inlingua’s Access to Professional English Programmes are specifically designed for participants  who wish to improve their English for professional purposes.  Courses available to date are:

APP Level 1 – This is the first stage of the inlingua business English core programme. The course contains the key language structures from the Common European Framework (CEF) A1 and A2 and covers the Can Do Statements for Work as specified by ALTE (Association of Language Testers in Europe) for Level 1. Some of the units covered in the course are:

  • In a hotel.
  • Networking.
  • People and places.
  • At the office.
  • Communicating.

APP Level 2 – This is designed for participants who have reached Level 1 and covers the key language structures from the Common European Framework (CEF) B1. This course will enable the participant to acquire structures and vocabulary progressively and efficiently, so that they can communicate at a basic level with speakers of English on a number of essential business topics.  Some of the units covered are:

  • Teamwork.
  • A sales meeting.
  • Telephoning.
  • Discussing progress.
  • Company performance.
  • Business decisions.
  • Health and Safety at work.

APP Level 3 – This is designed for students who have achieved Level 2 and covers the key language structures from the Common European Framework (CEF) B2.  Each lesson in APP3 focuses on a professional communication skill.  Input material is based on authentic companies and subject-matter to ensure the learning contexts are relevant and motivating.  Some of the units covered in this course are:

  • Looking ahead.
  • Decision making.
  • Analysis.
  • Ideas.
  • Getting organised.
  • Systems.
  • Workload.
 
  Business Banking – Upper

inlingua Banking is a course aimed at professionals who need to understand the specialised language of the banking industry.  In the course, learners are taken through a range of situations in which they are required to deal with actual banking situations in English.   Business Meetings – Lower and Upper

inlingua Meetings covers the key strategies used in business communication, enabling learners to apply their professional skills when speaking English.  The course also deals with techniques for enhancing communication between non-native speakers.
