Social Programme and Excursionsinlingua Cardiff has developed its own social programme. Each week, all students are invited to practice what they have learned inside the school. Conversation Club (Wednesday Afternoon) Every two weeks we hold a conversation club in one of the local coffee shops; it’s a great way of getting to know the other students and teachers and only costs the price of a coffee! Cinema Club (Wednesday Afternoon) The cinema club also runs every two weeks (alternating with conversation club) and the film is chosen by the students. Don’t forget your student card to get a discount for your entrance fee! Walking Club (March – October) The walking club was launched in the summer of 2010 and is one of our most popular events. Every 4-6 weeks (weather permitting) students have the opportunity to visit some of Wales’ beautiful country side, with our very own teacher/guide and enthusiast. A sturdy pair of shoes is needed and a meeting will be held to discuss what level of ability is required for each walk. Some of the places we have visited so far are:
Weekend Excursions (February – November) Every four weeks we have another weekend excursion for all of the school, from riding the Roller Coasters at Oakwood Theme Park, Barbeques, Go-Karting and much more. So where can we take you? And what is there to enjoy that is special in Wales? Well, try these for a few ideas. • Cardiff Castle For all of our trips we only ask for you to cover the cost of transport, entrance fees and supervision. Trips usually cost from between £3.00 to £20.00. Nights out If you want to enjoy the nightlife of Cardiff there are plenty of opportunities for you to enjoy it. From one of the student nights out to the local bars or one of the many restaurants that can cater for anyone’s needs, just bring your dancing shoes and plenty of energy! |
